Spurs survive a painful defeat at home and draw with Basel Swiss European league

Tottenham Hotspur tied at home to Basel with two goals each in the first leg quarter-finals European Club Cup soccer Thursday.

Valentin Stocker scored and Fabian Frei Basel goals in the 30 and 34 minutes while Emmanuel Adebayor scored and Gylfi Sigurdsson goal Tottenham scored in the 40 and 58.

Held for the second leg next Thursday.
